Howdy! It’s been a while since I last published anything on this site 😦 But I am with news, and it is good 🙂 I now have a new home (on the internet anyway) and it’s http://www.moonofarann.com 🙂
I decided a little while ago, that it made far more sense to have one central location for all of my work, writings, etc. and so set about making that happen. I am still working on fine tuning everything and setting things up exactly the way I want them to be, but I am very pleased to be able to say that I am really enjoying the experience and I am learning a ton at the same time 🙂
So if you feel like following me over to my new hang out I would be delighted to see you there! If not, then I wish you all the very best 🙂
P.S. I have just today written a little post about my new site. If you would like to read more then here’s the link http://moonofarann.com/2014/08/18/endings-beginnings/ 🙂
I hope everyone is doing well 🙂 My posts here have been a little erratic lately, for which I apologise , but I have been trying to find the right balance between frequency of posts versus quality content. It is something I want to really get right, but like a lot of things in life it is a new learning experience for me, so please bear with me while I find my feet 🙂
Last Saturday (the 21st of June) was the longest day of the year here in Ireland (and a lot of other places of course!) and thankfully the weather was beautiful and I am happy to say that I had a really lovely day. All things faery have been on my mind lately, partly because of the time of year but more so to do with the fact that I am currently reading “Faery Tale” by Signe Pike. It is a lovely book, about Signe’s search to find enchantment in this modern world, which is something I have also been searching for for the past while. So because of these influences and a few other more personal ones my next amigurumi design is going to be a faery 🙂 I have started work on her, and so far it is going well! Also Mr. Art Badger tells me he will be writing a few words on the Summer Solstice, so keep on eye out for that 🙂
To celebrate the solstice I have reduced the price of the Ms. Milly Mill the Bumblebee pattern on my Ravelry store by 50% for one week only! (June 23rd to 30th inclusive) and you can avail of this offer by clicking here http://www.ravelry.com/redeem/moon-of-arann?sale=23929

Hey there guys and gals! I hope everyone had a great weekend. The sun was shining for one day here in Ireland so that really made my weekend 🙂
I am with news! I have finished my first ever amigurumi pattern and I am so proud of the finished result! He is sitting on my desk smiling at me now as I type 🙂 I have typed up all the instructions for the pattern and now my task is to make it look pretty before I unleash it to the world on Wednesday. However I am feeling slightly daunted by this. Why? Well I am not too sure exactly. I think maybe it is because it is the final step, and once that is taken that is it and there is no going back. It may sound a little silly but hey, our emotions can be silly things right?!
One thing that I have definitely learned from the past couple of weeks though is how important it is to have fun with what you are doing. I went through a stage of putting so much pressure on myself, everything had to be just so before I would even put pen to paper, but now I am more, “let’s just do this and see how it goes”, and I have to say I am really enjoying it and I have a finished product that I am so proud of 🙂
So the lesson for today: Have fun! Let go! Be creative! Life is so much better when you take things from a sillier perspective. And if all that fails just “Feel the fear and do it anyway!”
Hey there! I hope every one is having a great Monday 🙂 Today I just wanted to quickly post a sneak peek at my first ever amigurumi pattern 🙂 He is almost finished and is dying to get out there and meet everyone! This guy is going to be a free pattern and I am currently working on digitizing my notes and researching the best way to make it available here on my blog for anyone who would like to have a go at crocheting him.
When everything is done and ready to go Mr. Art Badger tells me he will be writing a blog post all about his friend and that will be available on http://www.moonofarann.com.
Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter or hit the “Like” button for Facebook (links in the side bar) if you want to stay updated on the latest goings on 🙂 I am also on Instagram and the link to my profile is also in the sidebar. Hope everyone has a great week, bye for now 🙂
Shhhhhh…….. 🙂 Here he is, almost ready to make his debut into the world, he tells me he can’t wait!
Mr. Art Badger has a new blog post all about where his neighbors the Fairy Folk live 🙂
http://www.moonofarann.com. Why not take a wander over 🙂
Sorry about the poor photo quality, but I just wanted to share the progress I made on Mr. Art Badger over the weekend 🙂 Still have some bugs to iron out, but I am slowly getting there 🙂
